Joint Industry Committee for Radio Audience Research
- Joint Industry Committee for Radio Audience Research
A committee composed of representatives of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising, the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers Ltd, and independent radio companies. The committee provides information on the listening habits of radio audiences. Its research is based on quota sampling of listeners aged 15 or over living in private households within a radio station's designated area. Samples of 300-1200 people, determined according to the population size of the area, record details of their radio listening (BBC or commercial) in 15-minute periods in specially designed seven-day diaries. Other data about the respondents' media habits is also collected.
